Access to timely market information used to be restricted to large
banks with pricey market-data systems. Now, through a partnership
between the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston (the Bank) and Lehman
Brothers, the Bank is offering member institutions unprecedented
access to state-of-the-art capital-markets data, research, information,
analytical tools, and ideas on all facets of the balance sheet.
The basic version of LehmanLive, an online resource provided by
Lehman Brothers, is now available to FHLB members to help them access
current and historical market data. This information provides members
with another resource to help them make better investment, funding,
and asset-liability decisions, and improve their execution when
accessing the capital markets.
A basic version of LehmanLive is available to member institutions
through FHLB Direct, the Bank's online banking service, at no charge
and with no obligation to Lehman Brothers.
Members have access to real-time prices and yields on U.S. Treasuries,
agencies (both bullet and callable), mortgage-backed securities,
interest-rate swaps, equity indexes, and real-time yield curves.
Current and historical Treasury, mortgage, agency, swap, LIBOR,
CMT, bank debt, and mortgage-refinancing rates are also available.
Lehman Brothers' Global Economics team posts daily and weekly economic
research and commentary, as well as a calendar displaying the daily
economic data that move the markets.
Member banks that opt to receive LehmanLive's premium service can
access tools to analyze specific bonds; price financial instruments
such as bonds, swaps, caps, and floors; analyze and understand the
market's expectations for federal funds; price loan and deposit
products; and perform other valuable analytical functions.
Premium access also provides members with the full array of Lehman
Brothers' Bank Strategies research, as well as ideas, observations,
and recommendations on investment, funding, lending, deposit-gathering,
interest-rate-risk management, bank accounting, and regulatory compliance.
