The Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston has a full schedule of
learning opportunities for members in the coming months. These include
MPF Implementation Training and Secondary Market Fundamentals sessions
held at convenient locations throughout the region and webinars
accessed via computer from your office.
In recent months the Bank has begun to offer an increasing number
of webinars to keep you up to date on Bank services. Our webinars
allow you to access comprehensive information on Bank products and

FHLB101 Webinar FHLB 101 is
a free, five-week webinar on making the most of your membership
in the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston. In this online seminar,
learn how our wide range of products and services can give you a
competitive edge. Hear it from the same Bank staff you speak with
by telephone every day. And learn it all without having to leave
your office. Sessions will be held on consecutive Wednesdays

Webinar Want to learn more about managing the assets
and liabilities of your financial institution? Register for our
upcoming A/L 101: Modern Asset/Liability Management session. A six-part,
web-based seminar has been scheduled for the fall of 2005. Sessions
will be held on six consecutive Tuesdays from September 20 to
October 25. The seminars will give your staff the best and most
convenient training through live lectures, case studies, reading
assignments, and practical solutions for managing assets and liabilities.

Optimizing Borrowing Capacity by Optimizing
Collateral Join us August 24 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. for
a free webinar on pledging collateral with the Bank. Program discussion
will focus on helping your institution optimize its borrowing potential
through the pledging of qualified collateral. Our experienced staff
will discuss the Qualified Collateral Report (QCR), common reporting
errors, and recent changes in the QCR's treatment of one- to four-family
mortgages. Let our staff will walk you through the process of pledging
securities to increase your institution's borrowing capacity with
the Bank. Each participant will need a computer, a web browser,

MPF Implementation Training
In the coming months, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston will
hold three Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) Implementation Training
sessions for recently approved participating financial institutions
(PFIs), those that need a refresher course on selling and servicing
MPF loans, and PFIs that have recently hired new employees. Sessions
will be held August 10, in Portland, Maine; October 5,
in Mansfield, Massachusetts; and December 7, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Secondary Market Fundamentals
A workshop on the art and science of pricing, hedging, and loan
sales techniques to maximize benefits of the Mortgage Partnership
Finance® (MPF®) program. Peter Taglia, senior vice president/financial
management at FTN Financial Capital Assets Corporation, will provide
an in-depth look at today's secondary market and offer his insights
on rate-setting, rate-lock options, and determining best execution.
Guiding you through the maze of secondary marketing, he exposes
common myths and helps you minimize risk and maximize income. Sessions
will be held September 14 in Manchester, New Hampshire, and
