IDEAL WAY

Cash Management: Earn hard-dollar interest on all collected balances; no compensating balances are required.

IDEAL Way Accounts
Cash management starts with your IDEAL Way Daily Interest Account, a central clearing account for all Bank transactions. Dividend payments, disbursements and repayments of advances, collections of principal interest, safekeeping and deposit transactions, and wire transfers are all made through this account.

  • All collected funds earn immediate interest at a competitive rate set daily.

  • Collected balances accrue interest daily and are credited monthly in hard dollars. (Reserve requirements do not apply.)

You may transfer funds into and out of the account in several ways:

  • Internal transfer between Bank accounts

  • Domestic and international wire transfers

  • IDEAL Way checks (see Zero-Balance Disbursement Accounts)

  • Fed Settlement debits and credits (see Fed Settlement Services)

  • Automatic funding to cover overdrafts (see IDEAL Way Line of Credit, below)

IDEAL Way Line of Credit
With a pre-approved IDEAL Way line of credit, you may intentionally or unintentionally overdraw your account at any time. The line of credit provides an advance to cover the overdraft, helping you meet unexpected cash needs conveniently and economically.

No credit-line or compensating balances are required. You pay only the low IDEAL Way advance rate for the number of days you keep the advance outstanding. The rate is set at approximately 4 p.m. each business day. To access your line, simply wire funds out or write an IDEAL Way check in excess of your collected balance. Advances are issued in increments of $1,000.

  • Tell us when you want to repay the line, in whole or in part, and then deposit the funds in your IDEAL Way account. Repayments can be made by calling Customer Service at 1-800-358-9709 by 3 p.m.

  • All interest charges for IDEAL Way advances are charged on the second business day of the following month.

  • The Bank typically issues credit lines equal to two percent of your institution's assets. Higher lines are available. To increase your line or have it updated to reflect an increase in your institution's assets, contact the Money Desk at moneydesk@fhlbboston.com or
