This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to all users and visitors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Bank of Boston’s (“FHLBank Boston,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website (“Site”), including the information that may be subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively “CCPA”), and any other applicable state privacy regulations.

This Privacy Policy also describes certain rights you may have regarding the information we collect about you. Please note that certain rights available to you are determined by the state of your residence and not all rights are appliable to residents of all states. You may be required to provide proof of your identity or authorization to act on behalf of others and applicable state of residence.

This policy does not apply to information exchanged on private sections of FHLBank Boston’s Site that require a password to access. Your use of those private sections, and the treatment of information collected therein, are governed by the relevant agreements between you and FHLBank Boston and any privacy statement specifically covering those sections of our Site. Member Specific Privacy Policy

FHLBank Boston is committed to protecting the privacy of its members and their customers by maintaining the confidentiality of nonpublic personal information (as that term is defined in the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 and the various implementing federal regulations) as detailed in each Member’s respective Correspondent Services Agreement. FHLBank Boston’s practices for safeguarding the privacy of any nonpublic personal information received by FHLBank Boston from or on behalf of Members are summarized below. These key practices represent a variety of processes and procedures implemented by FHLBank Boston for the handling of such information and are stated here to assist members with their required regulatory compliance.

• FHLBank Boston does not disclose nonpublic personal information about members’ customers to third parties, other than for purposes or in a manner authorized by the member or required for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes, or to third parties that are providing services to FHLBank Boston. FHLBank Boston requires such third-party service providers to comply with all applicable privacy laws and keep any nonpublic personal information of members’ customers confidential.
• FHLBank Boston maintains administrative, physical and electronic safeguards to help protect the confidentiality of nonpublic personal information received from members about their customers.

Sale of Personal Information

It is FHLBank Boston’s policy not to share, disclose, or sell personal information with or to third parties or affiliates for those third parties’ or affiliates’ own marketing purposes, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.

FHLBank Boston may embed videos from third party sites, such as YouTube.com. Cookies and cookie preferences from those sites track a user’s interaction with the video embedded on our Site and users are directed to review and update the relevant policies and privacy settings (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/intl/en_mt/howyoutubeworks/privacy/).

Terms Used in this Policy

Throughout this Privacy Policy certain terms will be used. The term “you” applies to users of the public portions of our Site. The meaning of certain terms used in this Privacy Policy are dictated by state law. In such cases, the definitions in the laws of your state of residence may apply. For example, “personal information,” “personally identifiable information,” and “personal data” mean information that tells us sensitive, non-public information regarding individuals, like a person’s social security number, bank account number and certain financial information, and may be used interchangeably in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect, and How We Use and Store It

Information that You Provide

You may browse portions of the Site that do not require entry of login credentials, without registration, and without actively entering Personal Information. To access certain portions of our Site, we will need to provide login credentials. When using our Site, you may provide us information and contact us to request information about FHLBank Boston or our products and services. For example, you may provide us information to obtain, service, and register for login credentials to access non-public portions of the Site. Members or other users of our Site may also be able to sign up for seminars, request specific information about programs, or register or apply for various programs or services. In choosing one of these options, you may provide us with certain information that we use to send you the information, evaluate and process your request or application, or provide you with the services you request. Certain functionality may not be available to you if you choose to not provide certain information.

We may share this information with third parties to facilitate the offering of the services described in the preceding paragraph or enhance your or your use of the Site, and improve the useability and functionality of the Site. We may also use such information to send you additional marketing and informational materials about our programs, services, and products. We may also use such information to provide you services and features, including on the Site and providing you access to secure portions of the Site that are not accessible to the public.

Information Collected Through Automated Means

Certain information may be provided automatically by your web browser, application, and/or computing and mobile device when entering or utilizing the Site. Examples include your IP address(es); device identifier(s); browser type(s) and version(s); operating system(s) information; access dates and times; geolocation and precise geolocation; and referring and exiting URLs.

We may use this information to measure the number of visitors to sections of the Site, to determine from where our visitors arrived and to where our visitors navigate to from the Site, to help us improve the functionality and usability of the Site, and for FHLBank Boston’s internal operational purposes. For example, we may organize and analyze IP addresses so that we can provide more efficient service(s), improve user experience on the Site, enhance security associated with accessing non-public portions of the Site, and monitor usage and produce traffic volume statistics to better service users on the Site. We will not share or disclose any Personal Information with third parties, except as permitted by law. Those permitted uses include, for example, disclosures: (i) to protect the confidentiality or security of your records; (ii) to our attorneys, accountants, auditors or other third parties providing services to FHLBank Boston; (iii) to law enforcement or other government officials or agencies; (iv) to consumer reporting agencies; or (v) in connection with a sale, re-organization or merger of FHLBank Boston. We require third parties to whom we disclose your Personal Information to take measures to keep that information confidential and secure, using measures that are reasonably equivalent to FHLBank Boston’s. Tracking Technologies (including Cookies)

As disclosed in this Policy, the Site may use certain Tracking Technologies, including cookies, JavaScript, tags, and application program interfaces with our service providers, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Marketo, to collect certain information about you and your activity on our Site.
