Thomas Hamaker

As the member risk and analytics manager, Thomas brings a razor-sharp focus for assessing member financial health, risk trends, and analytics to first-line credit risk management. Thomas leverages prior experience with a federal regulator to help strengthen risk transparency and support our mission of providing reliable liquidity to our members.

Prior to joining FHLBank Boston, Thomas spent more than seven years as an examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. In that role, he evaluated the financial condition, internal controls, and regulatory compliance of financial institutions. He also served as an examiner in charge for complex and rapidly growing institutions and played a key role in mentoring and training junior examiners.

Thomas is a Certified Treasury Professional and a Commissioned Risk Management Examiner. He holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing analytics from Arkansas State University, where he graduated summa cum laude and received the R.E. Lee Wilson Award. While completing his undergraduate education, Thomas began his career in banking as a teller.

New to the Boston area, Thomas is excited to explore New England and take in the fall colors while on a quest for the perfect cup of coffee. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, reviewing new movies, volunteering with American Legion Arkansas Boys State, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers as a lifelong member of “Steelers Nation.”
