
Frequently Asked Questions for Wire Transaction in Online Banking
Starting on October 23, 2025, members can conduct wire transactions independent of advance transactions in Online Banking. Members who need more information about conducting wire transactions on Online Banking can review the following Frequently Asked Questions.
You can create wire transactions between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Depending on the type of wire, the following deadlines apply:
- Outgoing Third-Party Wires: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Outgoing Bank-to-Bank & Incoming/All Other Wires: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Daily Cash Manager Settlements: 8:30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
For wire transactions tied to advance transactions, FHLBank Boston requires users to use multi-factor authentication through our service provider, Okta. This requires the user to receive an authentication code via a phone call or SMS text message on the phone or device in their possession. Beginning on October 23, 2025, users will be required to use application-based authentication through Okta. This authentication method will require users to receive an authentication code via an Okta application downloaded to a mobile device in their possession.
To review your account activity in Online Banking, navigate to “Deposits” on the navigation bar, then select “View Deposit Accounts” and choose the deposit account associated with the wire transaction. By clicking the arrow at the end of the account information line, you will be able to access the details of all processed transactions.
Members can establish up to eight templates to fund their correspondent accounts.

- We will promptly initiate an Adobe Sign document for you to provide your wire instructions.
- The form requires signatures from two authorized individuals via Adobe Sign.
- An authorized individual is anyone with wire initiation permissions in Online Banking.
- The use of Adobe Sign with two authorized signers replaces the previous call-back requirement, however, FHLBank Boston may still perform a callback to a different authorized individuals to verify wire instructions.
While reviewing the template details, please be aware that if you are using a receiving bank routing number that starts with a zero (0), the leading zero (0) does not currently appear in the display. Rest assured, your transaction will still process to the receiving bank with the complete instructions. We anticipate resolving this display issue soon.
New template requests are completed on the same business day, but the instructions will not be available in Online Banking until the next business day.

- The deleted template will no longer be in the selection view on the next business day.
If the wire has already reached your correspondent account, follow your procedures to instruct them to return it. If your wire transaction isn’t reflected in your Online Banking transaction history, call us at 800-357-3452 (option 3) to request cancellation.
